Minor League Football

French Field, Kent Meridian High School, Kent, WA – The King County Jaguars the 2007 Minor League Football Association National Champion and the 2007 #1 ranked team in the Northwest will take on the new powerhouse British Columbia Spartans team Saturday July 12th 2008 at 7:00 p.m.

The King County Jaguars, a Kent area team, began in 1999 as members of the Northwest Football League (NWFL) and were NWFL champions the past three seasons. After the 2007 season, the Jaguars moved to the North American Football League (NAFL). The Jaguars currently hold a 38 game regular season winning streak and have been ranked in the top 10 nationally the past three seasons. The Jaguars first participated in the Kent Cornucopia Days celebration in 2006. The Jaguars are 2-0 in Kent Cornucopia Bowl games defeating the West Sound Saints of Silverdale both times.

The British Columbia Spartans are a first year team established in 2007 and are located in Langley BC, SE of Vancouver. The Spartans will be the first in 35 years to field a minor league football team in British Columbia, and are receiving a great deal of community support. The B.C. Spartans are stocked with local football talent, and have former B.C. Lion players of the Canadian Football League, on their roster.

The North American Football League www.nafl.org is the largest football league of its kind in the world, which holds a 64 team post season North American football tournament and hosts its national championship game in Orlando FL.

Your King County Jaguars and the NAFL are proud to be a part of the Kent Cornucopia Days celebration, a Community Service Project of the Kent Lions Club. We encourage everyone to come visit our King County Jaguar booth at the Cornucopia Street Fair and look for us in the Cornucopia Day parade.

The Festival and the Game promise to be exciting events.  We hope that you will come out and experience what the Kent Cornucopia Days has to offer AND come to French Field on July 12th at 7 p.m. for some 'Smash Mouth Football'!!
